58°59,35’N 05°59,80’E Idsefjorden is located 6 nautical miles east of Stavanger, and stretches out between the to islands Idse and Idsal and the Ryfylke village Jørpeland. Unfortunately, a bridge in Idsalsundet prevents sailboats from entering Høgsfjorden and also from circumnavigating the islands. Due to this, Idsefjorden may feel like a detour, but a beautiful one, though. Idsal has nice swimming and anchorage spots in coves on the eastern shore, like Lådervik.
59°00,49’N 06°01,71’E Just off Jørpeland lie the Jørpeland islets with a beautiful lagoon. The southern entrance is narrow, but the lagoon is fabulous and worth the challenge. The lagoon is shallow near the shore, so it may be necessary to land in the dinghy. Jørpeland offers a guest harbour. From here it is possible to take a bus (or a taxi) to the new and architectonic impressive Pulpit Rock Mountain Lodge - Preikestolen fjellstue. From her you may hike towards Lysefjorden and the Pulpit Rock.
