59°20,61’N 06°05,56’E. Økstafjorden is situated east of Jelsa (59°20,14’N 06°01,40’E). On the west side of the fjord, you will find a beautiful and peaceful recreation area with god anchorage, especially in the inlet inside of Bergaholmen. Toilets, footbridges and rubbish bins are at your disposal. Piers on east side of Bergaholmen are for disembarkation only. If you sail farther up the fjord, passing a bridge at port side due to an underwater rock, you will soon enter brackish water and experience a very special inland area atmosphere. At the head of the fjord – "Saga" (The sawmill) – a brook flows into the fjord from Slåttevatnet. You may follow a cart road up to the lake.
59°20,14’N 06°01,40’E. Jelsa has a sheltered harbour with a guest pier. Nowadays this old trading town is a quiet place, with picturesque, small houses and narrow streets, but the old steamship pier still reminds us of busier days. Jelsa has a grocery shop, and Saturdays and Sundays during summer, the old beautiful church and the school museum are open.
