59.13N 05.53E. Nord-Hidle is part of Sjernarøyane, an archipelago located one and a half nautical mile north of Finnøy. In addition to its intensely green landscape and long cultural history, Nord-Hidle offers a beautiful, narrow sound with good anchorage, although one must be aware of shallow waters. One can anchor also in the cove on the west side, if the weather is calm. Take note of a rock in the middle of the cove.
Nord-Hilde is cut out for hiking, and it is possible to order a guiding through the landscape and cultural history where erotic cults with phallus stones were central ingredients in the past. One of the farms, Norda-Hidle, offers B&B and/or a traditional local cuisine. Nord-Hidle is not far from the guest harbours at Helgøysund (Nord-Talje), Eiriksholmen (between Kyrkøy and Audbø), or Eidssund (Ombo), all with general store and bunkering.
